Scriptures On Sleep

In the name of Jesus, I bind you Satan, and all your agents from my dreams. I forbid you to interfere in any way with my sleep. I bring every thought, every imagination, and every dream into the captivity and obedience of Jesus Christ. Father, I thank you that even as I sleep my heart counsels me and reveals to me your purpose and plan. Thank you for sweet sleep, for you promised your beloved sweet sleep. Therefore, my heart is glad and my spirit rejoices. My body and soul rest and confidently dwell in safety. Amen. 1. You are the God of Abraham. I will not be afraid, for you are with me. Genesis 26:24 2. I will be strong and courageous. I will not be afraid or terrified, for the Lord my God goes with me; he will never leave me nor forsake me . . . The Lord himself goes before me, therefore I will not be afraid nor discouraged. Deuteronomy 31:6–8 3. Because you have commanded me, I will be strong and courageous. I will not be terrified; I will not be discouraged, for you, Lord, are my God, and you will be with me wherever I go. Joshua 1:9 4. I will be strong and courageous and do the work. I will not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with me. 1 Chronicles 28:20 5. I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:8 6. The Lord is my light and my salvation — whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life — of whom shall I be afraid . . . Though an army besiege me my heart will not fear; though war break out against me even then will I be confident . . . Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Psalm 27:1, 3, 14 7. Listen to my prayer, O God, do not ignore my plea; hear me and answer me. My thoughts trouble me and I am distraught . . . But I call to God and the Lord saves me. Evening, morning, and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice. He ransoms me unharmed from the battle that wages against me . . . I will cast my cares on the Lord and he will sustain me; he will never let the righteous fall. Psalm 55:1, 16–18, 22 8. When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me? Psalm 56:3–4 9. I cry out to God Most High, to God, who fulfills his purpose for me. Psalm 57:2 Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress; I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge. Psalm 62:5–8 10. I have peace because I love your law; nothing can make them stumble. Psalm 119:165 11. I am blessed because my help is the God of Jacob and my hope is in the Lord my God, the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them — the Lord, who remains faithful forever. Psalm 146:5–6 12. He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you make the most high your dwelling — even the Lord, who is my refuge — then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands so you do not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.” Psalm 91 13. Let morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul . . . For your name’s sake, O Lord, preserve my life; in your righteousness, bring me out of trouble. Psalm 143:8, 11 14. Because I trust in you, you keep me in perfect peace; my mind is steadfast. Isaiah 26:3 I will not fear, for you are with me; I will not be dismayed, for are my God. You will strengthen me and help me; you will uphold me with your righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10 I am not afraid for you have redeemed me; you have summoned me by name and I belong to you. When I pass through the waters you will be with you; and when I pass through the rivers they will not sweep over me. When I walk through the fire I will not be burned; the flames will not set me ablaze. Isaiah 43:1 You will pour out your Spirit on my offspring, and your blessing on my descendants . . . I will not tremble, I will not be afraid. Oh Lord, you proclaimed this and foretold it long ago. I am your witness. There is no God besides you. No, there is no other Rock; I know not one. Isaiah 44:3, 8 You are God, and there is none other; You are God, and there is none like you. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. Your purposes will stand, and you will do all that you please. Isaiah 46:9- 10 15. Let him who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God. Isaiah 50:10 16. In my faithfulness I will reward them and make an everlasting covenant with them. Their descendants will be known among the nations and their offspring among the peoples. All who see them will acknowledge that they are a people the Lord has blessed. Isaiah 61:8–9 17. Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him. Isaiah 64:4 18. They will not toil in vain or bear children doomed to misfortune; for they will be a people blessed by the Lord, they and their descendants with them. Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear. Isaiah 65:23–24 19. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11–13. 20. Arise, cry out in the night, as the watches of the night begin; pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to him for the lives of your children . . . Lamentations 2:19 21. Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:28–29 22. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27 23. I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33 24. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Jesus Christ. Philippians 4:6–7
