Prayer of Confession and Repentance

Holy Spirit, I present my spirit, soul, and body to You now in the unmatchable name of Jesus Christ. Holy Spirit, I ask You to help me uncover the sins I have committed, known and unknown, in the name of Jesus. I come to the throne of mercy and repent of all my sins, in the name of Jesus. I confess and repent of all sins of my heart, my mouth, and my mind, in the name of Jesus. Lord, forgive me for all my sins that have offended You, known and unknown, in Jesus’ name. Holy Spirit, please forgive me if I ever grieved You in any way, in Jesus’ name. Holy Spirit, I ask You in the name of Jesus to create in me a new heart and a new mind that desires the full obedience of Jesus in my life. Amen

We need to speak positive words, stand in faith, and claim the promises of God for our lives. Scripture confession helps us to focus on positivity and negative thinking is blotted out. God’s Word is filled with truth and guidance to give light in a dark world. We are what God says we are and we need to hold fast to that confession with a fearless consciousness that God’s Word can never fail. Say these scriptures and meditate and reflect upon them. Dressing to Please God or Man?

The Heart of the Matter The Bible teaches that our outward appearance is a reflection of our inner heart and motivations. In 1 Samuel 16:7, God says, "The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." Therefore, our primary concern should be to please God, not people. Examples of Dressing to Please God or Man 1. Modesty vs. Vanity • God-pleasing: "I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God." (1 Timothy 2:9-10) • Man-pleasing: Dressing to draw attention to oneself, seeking praise and admiration from others. 2.
